There is no across the board formula to factor in the additional space required.

Front projection, while taking up less space, requires a lower room light level and places noisy unsightly equipment near your attendees. Rear Projection can occupy a significant portion of the space. The benefits are great however allowing brighter room light, a clean looking room set and a back stage area for storage.
